Found out a couple weeks ago during some pre-op test for an unrelated surgery that I had some lung nodules that were suspicious from back in Jan/Feb, my pcm never mentioned them if it wasn't for the new pre op would never had them checked now while getting ready for the vats procedure and looking at my records I read that I have sclerosis of the lower back / pelvic area , I thought it was just arthritis, and again pcm didn't tell me. Does anyone know if this normal practice.

I would ask your doctor why these things were never mentioned. Sclerosis of the spine is a very different diagnosis than multiple sclerosis. Sclerosis means scar or thickening. It can also mean inflammation. Sclerosis of the spine is then a thickened, inflamed back/spine. You may want to make an appointment with a good rheumatologist.

Best of luck on your VATS. I hope your lung nodules turn out to be something benign and easily treatable.

When I get my surgical reports I see these things, too. I'm not diagnosed MS, but they won't rule it out yet. However, they tell me my tests are normal and there are always little things in them. One doctor told me they are nothing to worry about and most people have them in their bodies. Like I have a nodule in my left lung that is stable one report said. A cyst on a kidney. 2 hemangiomas? in my liver. No one ever mentions it. I have to read in my reports for myself. That's why I always get a copy of my reports. You never know if they things will add up to something later. Especially when you have mystery symptoms like mine.

I will start getting copies of all my test, will also begin looking for a new doctor because as it turned out the nodule she decided not to monitor turned out to be cancer, so I sit here healing from the lobectomy still angry cause if not for the pre op they would never have found it and I wonder how big it would have been. But on the bright side it is not breast related ,they caught it while the tumor was small so right now there is no need for chemo or radiation

When I had a ct scan 1 1/2 years ago, the radiologist gave results for a liver scan and put a note on my medical record, that. He saw atherosclerosis. None of my Drs caught it. I did s year later. I'm still upset, and read my records regularly

HMOs really suck
