Hello Everyone, :)

HealingWell is a wonderful home w/ great forums and people. Wish I had found you years ago!

If anyone has questions about CSS, MS, MRIs, neuro symptoms, etc., I would love to help.

Have had MS entire lifetime, but not Dx until 2000. Grade-3 CSS, caused by age and MS DMTs (disease-modifying treatments), needs 2-lvl ACDF, but am not candidate for surgery (due to swallowing problems).

Dx Hx: Fibro --> ON --> TM --> MS --> CSS.

Current Rx: Methadone (nociceptive pain), Hydrocodone (break-thru nociceptive pain), Lyrica (neuropathic pain), Keppra (neuropathic eye pain), Baclofen (spasms, spasticity), Cymbalta (depression), Xanax (anxiety), Ambien (sleep). Taking a break from MS DMTs.

I hope all is well. I just seen your post and was wondering if you could give a little information on your symptoms of the MS, and the MS hug ?

Hi Holly,

The MS Hug hit me real hard, but the pain and spasticity are being helped by meds:

* My entire rib cage and spine became painfully tight, like I was being squeezed by a boa constrictor.
* My chest felt like a 2-ton elephant was crushing me.
* I felt a sharp knife stabbing me under my rib cage.
* I felt like the side of my torso was being gnawed on by sharks.

Worst MS symptoms: Optic neuritis (ON), fatigue, MS Hug pain, leg muscle pain and stiffness, constipation, and cognitive troubles.

I apologize I just seen your reply. Yes I be leave it to be the MS hug.

I get this pain in my chest and in between the breast area it feels like a crushing, like I'm having a heart attack, it can last a minute, and there has been times it has lasted for an HR. I can be laying in bed, or just watching TV and it just comes on.

I have this pain on the left ( well comes and goes ) it wraps around my rib to the spine.
Lately I've been having a lot of spine pain.


I seen the Movement disorder Dr.on Thursday,
He Diagnosed me with Essential Tremor, Cervical dystonia, Spasmodic dysphonia, And depression/anxiety
I discussed with him the possibility of having MS he said yes it is possible but it takes time??

I have been prescribed cymbalta,tizanidine, and benztropine ( trial ) I have been referred to a Speech therapist, and a Social Worker ? did you have to do this as well??

Any answers or assistance you have to offer is So much Appreciated.

P.S. I reviewed that page and OH Yes to a lot of the symptoms.
