Hello:
I am a 28 year old male, who has had intermittent headaches for the past year and a half as well as facial and head tingling for the last 3 months- sometimes shooting down my arm. It's not painful, but it is annoying. I've also had neck and back pain from time to time, knee pain, and overall feeling of lethargy (not fatigue, but easily tired). I've had an uneasy gait (but able to walk fine) and some odd vision issues that have been explained as anxiety related. I also have been noticing a difficulty in word retrieval and reading. While most of the symptoms come and go, the facial tingling is daily at this point.
Brain MRI came up clear. Cervical spine MRI came up with some mild disc degeneration. There was a lesion that was described near my spine/hyoid bone as "incidental lipoma" so my doctor thinks it's likely fine. Blood test came up positive for recent lyme (I'm never really in wooded areas so this is a bit of a puzzler).
MS hasn't really come up, except that lyme and MS have similar symptoms. I don't feel "sick" enough to feel like I have lyme, but my neurologist said nothing on the scans really points to MS.
Are there questions I should be asking my doctors regarding the possibility of MS? I know they are both tricky diseases, but my lack of exposure to wooded areas makes me wonder if the lyme is a false positive, and that I should be a self advocate for other options such as MS. Nothing else can really explain the facial tingling, according to my doctor.
