Hi Chutka, welcome to Healing Well. I searched back through the archives here & did not find much related to MS & pacemakers.
My husband had a pacemaker put in several years ago, he does not have MS. He had an irregular heartbeat, fatigue & severe dizziness. The dizziness was so bad he started falling when trying to get up from a chair or out of bed. His cardiologist recommended the pacemaker, however, the dr that implants them totally disagreed. We went back & forth on this for nearly a year. Finally, the dr agreed. What a difference that pacemaker made for him.
You said the dr says he has a slow leaking valve, typically they say, mild, moderate or severe. Which valve is leaking? I have moderate leaking of the aortic valve, as long as I keep my blood pressure under control we hope that I will not need the valve replaced. This has been monitored by my cardiologist for a 30 years. As more time has gone by, I now have mild leaking of the mitral valve. At no time has a pacemaker ever been mentioned to me for leaking valves. So, I'm a little confused with a pacemaker being recommended to your husband.
Take care.
