Hi springjean, I went to the Mayo Clinic's website & it says MS can affect the bladder & bowels, however, it said nothing on how to treat it. Not being able to empty her bladder completely is a breeding ground for bacteria to build up.
My older sister (she does not have MS) has been incontinent for years & battles UTI. Not sure of the age of your friend, my sister's issues started in her early 50's. She was told women that have had hysterectomies & age they loose muscle strength plus gravity being involved.
This forum is extremely slow but I wanted to pop on & tell what little info I have.
