Shands UF MS Specialist Question

I am the first to say, that I know nothing about either of them. But.......... I was given an appointment with (s upposedly) one of the best Nero's in my neck of the woods and I had to wait 5 weeks to see him. I got another name that had a good rating, but I couldn't find out much about him.   I took the one that I could get into within 2 weeks. He was an idiot !   I didn't cancel my other appointment (thank God) and 5 weeks later, my life changed and so far, he has been the best doctor I could have possibly wished for.   Take it for what it is worth.    

I was diagnosed with MS about two months ago and just started on Copaxone.  I'm 25 and all during college (at UF) could not figure out what was wrong with me.  I went to Shands and to UF doctors and none of them pinpointed or suggested MS.  I was sent to orthoepedic people, physical therapy, mental therapy, etc.....and then when I graduated and my symptoms worsened, I moved to NC.  A doctor in Chapel Hill suggested MS, and within a week, I was at Duke University getting my spinal tap done.  I highly recommend the doctors at Duke.  I don't know if Shands is convenient to you, but for anyone that cannot find a good doctor and can afford to go out of state, I highly recommend Duke University.  They have top of the line medical technology and top of the line doctors.  Staff isn't always so nice, but the doctors are very good.  Hope this helps in some way.
