  I have posted here several times over the last few months.  I am yet another person here in limbo as to what is going on with me.  As I have said before, my symtoms of dizziness, balance problems and weakness started back in 1994. My brain MRI done in 1994 was normal.  I had another brain MRI done approx. two months ago, that one was normal. I had a thoracic spine MRI done last month, that was normal. Now tomorrow I go back for a cervical spine MRI. After 12 years of having symtoms off and on, all my tests continue to come back normal.  People, including my neuro MD are now trying to convince me that it is all stress related. Heck, I don't know. All I know is that I have bad days and good days. I have days when it is difficult for me to keep my balance when I am walking, some days my legs feel very heavy.  I have never had any numbness anywhere in my body, no visual problems and no bladder or bowel problems.  I do have alot of stress in my life, alot of responsibilites, as we all do.  I guess I am just looking for answers and maybe some opinions and or thoughts from you guys, as you have all been where I am at now.

I don't know that having repeated MRI's that close together will provide you with any answers, unless you've had dramatically different symptoms, or dramatically increased symptoms, from the one a month ago and one now. If indeed that is the case, then the MRI might indicate that. But it sounds like things have been the same with you -- same symptoms, to the same degree. I'm sorry you're having problems and seemingly not able to find answers.

Hi Shelley,

I'm so sorry you don't have any answers yet :( Try to hang in there and see what the cervical MRI shows. Just a couple of questions and forgive me if you've posted previously..any kind of pain anywhere? and have you ever been to a rhuematologist to check for other possibile causes to your symptoms? You mentioned something about an inner ear problem previously, did anything ever come of that?

I do hope some explanation comes soon for you, please let us know what you find out about the cervical.

Hello.

So sorry to hear about your symptoms.  I am in the same boat as you.  I don't have a dx yet either.  I have had the cervical and brain MRI with and without contrast that turned up normal.  Tons of blood work.  The docs have ruled out Lupus, Crones, Arthritis, Fibro, Cronic Fatigue, Lymes and I am sure more that I am forgetting.

All tests come back normal which to my neuro that rules in MS even more.

All I can give you today is hope.  Hope in the knowledge that the docs will find the answer, it might take time, but they will find it.  Hope that tomorrow is another day and if it is ms you might just feel better.  As I have noticed, with ms every day brings something new it may be worse or it may be better.  And hope that you have friends to lean on either at home or online.  In my experience a lot of the friends you need to help make it through are right here!

I received my cervical spine MRI results today, via fax, at my request, due to my neuro not returning my calls for the last two days to get the results from him..... anyway, I have no lesions but I do have the following:

C3-C4 HAS 0.9MM POSTERIOR DISK BULGE
C4-C5 HAS 1.9MM POSTERIOR DISK PROTRUSION
C5-C6 HAS 1.9MM POSTERIOR DISK PROTRUSION

I do not know yet if any of the above problem can cause my symptoms, my doctor will not return my calls. I had to call the MRI facility and get them to fax my report to me at work.

I have already had tests on my inner ears, which all came back normal. The neuro has not done any lab work or any other tests to that matter. He has not officially ruled anything out or in.....
