Hi guys, I hope everyone here is doing well.   I haven't posted here must as I haven't felt that I have had much to contribute positively to the forum.  But I have missed everyone here so very much. The last few months I have been busy with school and trying to finish my master's that I think I will never get.  Anxiety has been at an all time high for me as I have an increase in my health problems recently.  Maybe the heat is getting to me I don't know... My neuro changed me from Neurontin to Lyrica as I felt like I was buzzing all over my body (well the parts I can feel) and now I feel like extreme sensations.  Like, I cant stand to have someone touch me because it feels like it hurts my skin and just wearing jeans or anything rough hurts.  Does that seem weird?  I also have started to have terrible headaches everyday without fail for the last 3 weeks or so.  I cant put my hair in a ponytail or wear sunglasses as the pressure on my head is too much to stand.  I am worried that I am getting another lesion but know they cant do an MRI since I have a pacemaker now.  And I'm having a lot more muscle spasms then normal, so I have been popping the Zanaflex like mad.  I feel like I am complaining and I am sorry for that .  I know there are so many people out there worse off then me.  I am just trying to hold out until I see my doctor on July 6.    take care everyone...

Sounds like maybe you need a change in meds, or an adjustment in the doses? Couple that with anxiety and tension about the end of school, and it can lead to the headaches, for sure.

I hope you find some relief, and be sure to talk to your doctor about the meds. Not everyone does well on the same meds, and it may be there is something that will work better for you.

Oh, that stinks for ya!! I'll be thinking of you. The sensitivity to touch does seem a little odd to me but that is only because I haven't experienced that with MS yet. I too have some weird stuff that doesn't seem "normal" for MS but I guess everyone is different and experiences different symptoms.

I agree with uppity about maybe needing a change in meds or doses. Hopefully you can get some help and relief soon - we're thinking of you!!

What is your Masters Degree in, if I may ask?

 

And are you near the deissertation step yet?  And if so, what is the subject of your paper?

Hi Els,

Good for you on your schooling!! That's quite an accomplish and even more so with MS stuff to deal with too. Hopefully next week they can adjust your meds to make you a bit more comfortable with the symptoms you are having.

I don't hear too often people talking about the sensory problem of skin sensitivity. It's something that Mike has as well and yes rough fabrics are a real pain..literally! Cotton and fleece seem to be the best of the fabrics that he can tolerate, anything soft and light. We even got some boots with lamb skin lining for him to wear in the winter months since he can't tolerate socks or shoes.

Good luck with your appointment next week and I do hope you start to feel better soon.

Hi everyone, Thank you for your responses and suggestions.  I do take so many medications not only for the MS but for my blood pressure also and heart related issues that perhaps there is an interaction going on...My doctors are all hesitant to adjust my meds as they feel that I am holding stable at this point, yet I feel like crap.  I will be sure to write everything down so I don't forget to let the doc know what all is going on. John & Kimber, thank you for your encouragement with school.  My major is Psychology which I already have a Bachelor's degree in.  I am trying to finish my Master's so I can go on to counsel.  My dissertation is in the Crisis of self esteem in adolescent girls, involving eating disorders, premature sex, and self image.  It is such a huge issue and very rarely addressed, I believe.  Take care

Hi Elisha,

I hope you will be feeling better very soon!  I am very impressed that with everything you are dealing with, you are finishing school..  KUDOS to you!  I think that is a great topic for your dissertation.  If you need someone to interview who's been there, let me know I'd be happy to share how low self esteem affected me in adolescence.

I hope you are able to get your anxiety under control, it certainly makes everything else you are trying to deal with way worse... I'm in that boat with you.
