Yes, it is dreadful. Not quite as hot here -- "only" 92 today...I am so grateful that I have central air conditioning.
I keep the doors and windows closed, the curtains pulled. Even so, it is hot. I haven't cooked anything to eat for days, now (we are eating cold food, salads, stuff that I can zap in the micro. Fortunately I live way in the country, no neighbors, so I spend much of the day semi-naked (not a pretty sight!! )
Like Kimber says, the cooling packs can help if you have to be out (or don't have air). Other things: cool wet clothes draped on your head, cold drinks (and lots of fluids; it's way easy to get dehydrated).
And just take it as easy as you can.
