Hi All,

First let me apologize for not being on here in the last week or so.  I have not felt well at all and have had so much to accomplish for my trip.  I am flying to help my elderly parents for 10 days and I leave tomorrow.  Kimber has been such a great moderator and I feel bad for not helping.

 

I went for my follow-up today to get results of those dreadful tests.  The Dr. said I definately have memory deficits, trouble with motor skills in both hands and easy distraction, etc...  He said it is all compatible with my MS.  He feels I am secondary progressive.  I don't need to be retested unless things drastically change, he said my neuro can request it if need be.  He does feel it will get worst over time.

 

Thanks so much for your support and I hope to get back up to par when I get back.  I hope i don't have nay deficulties at the airport changing planes!!

I'm so sorry to hear it's secondary! Is u'r doc going to send u for any therapy to help with any of this?? Take really good care on u'r trip and be careful! Can u call ahead on the plane and have someone standing by to help u get to the correct gate should there be any prob?? Try not to push too hard and stress u'rself during ur trip. I'll send up many prayers friend and be hoping to hear u'r feeling better very soon. Don't worry about not being here...Kimber is great and after all, u'r sick!! We just want to know u'r ok.

    We all miss you when you're not here, but I believe everyone understands and you need to take care of yourself first afterall :-) Have a safe trip and my best wishes to your parents.

I'm sorry the MS reality keeps smackin' you. Yes, those kinds of cognitive difficulties are all-too-common. I've been labeled "secondary-progressive" for probably 10 or more years now. Haven't really noticed all that much difference, though... I've noticed a much greater difference in my condition since starting Betaseron -- no exacerbations, no increased disability, much greater difference than between "relapsing-remitting" and "secondary"...

Can someone tell me what the neuropsych test involves? I was diagnosed in 9/05. Since 4/06, my brain has really slipped. Simple wds that are in my brain, but doesn't make it to my tongue; concentration seems to wonder; medical words that I'm use to doesn't seem to make sense; and just plain doing stupid things like trying to open front door w/car remote. I graduated 2nd in my college class, but seems brain matter no longer there. I'm use to helping people cope w/asthma & other lung problems ... exercises & daily living adjustments. Now it is me and I know what fear of the unknown is really like. My neuro wants me to have this test ... scared that I'm going to make a complete fool of myself! Any suggestions?
