I was just wondering...I see you all talking about CRAB drugs.  What does CRAB mean and what drugs are you talking about?

Hey Sheila

CRABs...Copaxone, Rebif, Avonex, Betaseron. U'r newly dx'd...have u selected a drug therapy?

Thanks for the info, I haven't really discussed Meds with my neuro yet.  It is something that we are going to discuss in two weeks when I see him again.  I just got the news on Sept. 28th over the telephone so I think he is giving me time to let that info sink in.  He may have talked about it but to be honest, I was so shocked to finally get a diagnosis (after 10 years of the same neuro telling me there was nothing wrong with me) that I can't remember much of what was discussed after "apparently there are some adverse changes on your latest MRI"  and "I'm sorry I doubted you but I now believe that you have MS and that is what I am in putting on your chart."

I'm so sorry u've gotten this dx, tho i'm sure in a very odd way it's good to know. I'm undx'd and don't want ms or anything else, but would very much like to know what's going on. Ten years is quite a long time to go thru this and not knowing for sure. I'm glad u finally got a dx and i'm very glad u kept pushing until u got it. I wish u the very best and hope u'll be well. There are many here who use each of the different meds and i'm sure they'll be happy to give u any info u should want or need on them. Take good care and let us know how u'r doing and how that appt goes.

I'm sorry you've gotten a diagnosis. Indeed, talk with your doctor about the meds, see if he has any particular recommendation, then come ask here and we'll share our experiences with you.

Hi Sheila,

 

    Give yourself some time to let the dx sink in.  After all these years at least now you know what you are dealing with.  My husband was also one of those that took many years to get his dx, and despite everything that MS brings he lives a very happy life and I hope that can provide you some comfort that you can as well.  Please ask about the progression therapy, the people here are wonderful and I'm sure will be happy to share their experiences with you.  Take care and let us know how your appointment goes.
