Does your Doctor call you back?

Well i have to say that i usually do get a call back, but it's not very timely. If it's that day, it's late that day. Most often it's a few days. I've found that if the test was performed at another location than u'r docs office and another person was reading it and reporting on it, then it'll take longer to see results from u'r doc....BUT u can call that other person who's reading and reporting and get a copy of that report! The doc is prob just not returning the call in regards to the ep tests because he hasn't seen it. If u'r next appt date is set far off, then i'd persist and try to get the results, but very likely he'll talk with u at u'r lp about it all. Mine did that with me. Try to relax and not worry...as easy as that sounds for me to say...and know we're all here in u'r corner.

Take heart..u'r amongst friends and we understand. I'm in limbo as well and know all too well the pain of waiting. I've learned that it takes a while...no matter the test...the results never get to u fast enuf. Be prepared tho, this limbo may last for a long time and patience is something u'll have to put into play even when it seems unbearable. I hope ur hand is feeling better today and u'll soon get some much need relief. Remember, even if u'r not dx'd u still don't have to suffer with all the symptoms. I learned that from some here early on and it helped alot to realize that even if i dont' know why i'm feeling bad, i don't have to continue to feel that way. I don't suggest getting a pill for every ill, but if it's something that's affecting u'r life and job then it's worth some attention and maybe some med support.

Have u ever used any of that kind of software? If not, be aware that some of it has to learn u'r voice. U'r inflections and such, like accents, so it can get the correct wording for u. Don't get upset if it doesn't work straight out of the box, but give it time and work with it and i think it'll be priceless to u in time. I do hope u'r hand becomes less painful. I can't imagine having to work with it like that.

Sometimes steroids work well for people, and sometimes they don't. The good side to that is that if u try them again they may do wonders for u! Best wishes to u and please let us all know how everything goes with the lp and u'r ep results too. All my results have been normal/neg for everything, yet i still have things going on just as i did in the beginning (not all symptoms and not as strongly) so don't be discouraged if they come back normal. Hang in there!

Did u ever hear back from u'r doc?

My doctor generally calls back when she gets the test results -- IF I'm not scheduled to come back in. Sounds like you were -- you said you had a follow-up appointment, so he probably is ready to go over them with you at that time. Besides, even if he DID give you the results of your evoked potential..then what? If there IS a problem, you'd still need to see the doctor to find out what needs to be done as a follow up (and there isn't much to be done with a "positive" evoked potential anyway..it more is an indicator of something wrong, not something that in itself needs "fixing".)

No, you can't assume your results are normal. You can only assume that the doctor wants to talk with you IN PERSON about them, and you are scheduled for a follow-up exam, where it's likely he'll go through them with you then.

Actually I dont have a follow up appt but I have an LP which the doc is going to do...So maybe he thought he would talk to me then...
