Hi, my name is Juan Carlos Gonzalez. I live in the USA , I’m a permanent resident. I’m from Ecuador , South America and my family live there.
My youngest brother is 34 years old, He's in Ecuador and he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis Aggressive and Uncommon. His medical history: about one year ago he was paralyzed from his waist down. The doctors in Ecuador treated this condition as a viral infection to his spine. He was at the hospital for one month and after a lot of antibiotics and a lot of rehabilitation he was walking again and apparently everything was OK. Sometimes he had to walk using a cane. Two weeks ago, on Sunday 11-05-06 , he woke up and he was feeling his left side numb and he couldn’t walk. My family took him to the Hospital and by Wednesday 11-08-06 he was unconscious in Intensive Care.
The doctors have done a lot of blood tests, MRIs, cephalorachidian fluid tests and finally on Thursday 11-23-06 he was diagnosed with MS Uncommon and aggressive, but the doctors say there’s something else more, like a bacteria, or a fungus or something, they’re not sure yet . They’ll be doing a biopsy of my brother’s brain some time next week and after that, doctors will know what’s going on with him. My brother has been unconscious ever since that Wednesday 11-08-06 . He has been given corticoids and medicine since 11-08-06 .
If anybody knows about any institute or any foundation that treat cases of MS could you please let me know if they could help me or how to get in touch with them? I need help to bring him here to the States and help to get medical treatment
Thank you very much for your help
