Something new--warm sensation

These past two days I have been getting a very warm sensation on my left upper thigh. It's weird and happens real quick,like hot flashes or something. It's been happeing several times in a row and then nothing for a few hours...very odd. This is new to me...does it sound like it is MS related?

All kinds of strange sensory things can occur with MS.  This is one of them.

I got that warm sensation in my left foot back in the 80's (and still do off and on) and the doc thought it was circulatary (spelled wrong) problems which is was not. It wasn't till my left leg (thigh area) went numb last dec that my nuero said it was ms related. I sometimes get that warm sensation in other areas as well but not too often and it does feel weird.

I dont go to the mellen center for a neuro appt until Jan 3...do you think I should bring this up to my family doctor...I have closer contact with him,seeing him sometimes several times a month.

tropical dreams---is your leg still numb in that area,or does it go away? This past summer I had numbness in my hands,feets and face...but it comes and goes

I'm sorry to hear of this new symptom. Yes, so many strange and unpredictable things can happen with ms. If u feel it's something other than an ms symptom, then certainly i'd bring it up to the gp, but my primary goal would be to get it to the neuro's attention in Jan. Yes, having it documented both places can't hurt, but even the neuro isn't likely to be able to do much as far as i would know. It's likely one of those funky things we seem to have to live with. If it becomes so bothersome as to interfere with u'r daily life and abilty to function, that's when the neuro would likely address it in depth. Be on the lookout tho...new and persistant symptom(s) can be tell-tell signs of a flare. Take care and let us know how this progresses. I hope it passes soon for u.

Hi Nicole,

 

   My husband has a lot of the sensory problems, the warm sensation you are describing is one of them.  It happens off and on, sometimes only on a small section of the body and sometimes his whole body is effected.  It very well may be MS related and I would add it to your list for the neuro, but it couldn't hurt to mention it to your family doctor just to be sure since you're seeing him sooner.
