Funny you suggest that - I dug out a pair of Duofold longjohns I purchased from Cabelas last year, and they are working great for around the house. They are very thin and partially made of spandex, so they are not moving around when I move, therefore rubbing against my leg to aggrivate it. They won't cut it for work though as I don't exactly thing it would look very professional!
I will look for some of those diabetic hose - it cannot hurt, can it?
Mesea - I have not experienced any increase in pain tied to the Avonex. My understanding is pain, otherwise unexplained, is a predominant symptom of MS, along with numbness and fatigue. In 1998 I had a horrid bout of optic neuritis. It was the most frightening thing I have ever experienced as for about a month I could barely see. My boss at the time did not believe me. Optic neuritis not only disrupts your ability to see, but causes stabbing pain in your eye(s). Fortunately for the most part my vision came back. There are days when the pain comes back, although not nearly as intense, or my vision becomes "dim". Although not everyone who gets optic neuritis has MS, I was immediately tested as my father has it. Consequently I moved rapidly into care. Thinking back once I was diagnosed, I had been experiencing symptoms for years, yet never associated any of them as having a common cause. Stick with it Mesea - I would be more than happy to talk about Avonex more with you if you wish.
