Hi all,
Just updating on my situation in limboland. The dc called back on my repeat mri's and said if I didn't have a b-12 deficiency he would say I did have MS. I had the same 3 lesions as I had in Aug. and my brain mri showed a single lesion in the left cerebellar peduncle. So he bumped my b-12 shots up to twice a month instead of once a month. Told me to wait 4-6 months and repeat mri's. If there are more lesions or any other change in that direction he will then diagnose MS.
I've been reading alot on vit. deficiencies and found that many people with ms have a low b-12 level. Some dx with ms only had a b-12 def. and after treatment had a pretty decent recovery. But the two can go hand in hand. Since they found my levels so low when I went in for numbness he is wanting to make sure it's just not the b-12 causing all these lesions and symtoms.
Scary thing he told was my hands feeling numb and stiff could possibly be permanent. I know it could be alot worse but it is still hard to think that feeling will NEVER go away "possibly". So I'll just keep waiting and see whats next, that's all any of us can do. I had no idea b-12 could cause sooo much to go wrong in your body!! Make sure they check it just to see where you are.
Keep smiling everyone,
Zanadu
