Hi all,
Am back from my trip to Europe! Was great! Anyways, had all new MRI's before I left... dont know exactly what they showed as my doc only comes in on Thursdays. But thenurse read me the reports but the comparative study between the previous MRI and the current hasnt been completed yet...So the current brain one shows areas that are consistent with demylenating disease.... They didnt say how many lesions but there is a big one in the right front that is 11mm. I know in my previous MRI there was one in the front that was 6mm. could it have grown in size?? also said there is no breakdown of blood brain barrier...What does that mean??
The cervical one shows a possible inflammation in T2. What does this mean?? Says its questionable for demylenation. My previous cervical one was clear also... Am waiting for the brain comparative study...
Looks like there have been changes since last time though... Hopefully will lead me to a definite diagnosis. Espeically if there are brain lesions, a cervical lesions, positive LP and one major attach with many smaller symptoms...
Am seeing the neuro with my husband this thursday. He wants to see both of us and discuss meds...
Yes, lesions can and do grow in size...and sometimes the size noted on one MRI may not be accurate, so it could have been larger...or smaller..than noted, as can this one.
The inflammation is not a lesion -- thus the note that it's "questionable for demylenation".
I'm glad your trip went well. You should tell us exactly where you went and what you saw! Travelogues are always fun!
