"24" Stands for 24 hours. This is the amount of time that a new neurological symptom or increased baseline symptoms must be present consistently for it to be considered a MS exacerbation, relapse, or "flare". If the symptoms wax and wane or last less than 24 hrs, then it is not a flare, rather it is a pseudoattack.
"14" Stands for 14 days. This is the amount of time from the start of the relapse in which IV steroid treatments will be effective. After that time, steroids are not effective.
"10" Stands for 1-10 severity scale. When you report symptoms to us, use this scale to report how severe they are ( with 0 = no symptoms and 10 = most severe symptoms.
