I had my appointment with the ENT doctor a few days ago about the tinnitus (ringing) in my left ear. I've been having it off and on for over a year, but since January 1, it's been constant. The doctor did an exam then checked my hearing. He also requested copies of my last MRI. Everything was good.
He said the problem is in the auditory nerve, and he feels that it's connected to the rest of the neurological problems I'm having. He said that neurological problems are sometimes really hard to diagnose, but that they will eventually find what is going on. He said there really wasn't anything he could do, but that if the ringing gets worse, to call him.
My DH said maybe the ringing is the mother ship trying to contact me. Very funny!
