I'm still here

Hello Dear Friends,

I have still been around and have been reading the posts when I can. The fatigue is horrible and I have to take daily naps. Which happen to coincide when I would usually post. I wish I had more info and ideas for the newbies but it gets hard sometimes to be positive when the docs don't know what is going on.

I am going in for a sleep study on the 26th. My neuro is trying to get the Provigil approved through my insurance. My insurance will cover Provigil for Narcolepsy, sleep apnea and shift work sleep disorder (SWSD) but not MS related fatigue. It is very frustrating!! He is hoping that the sleep study will show that I'm not getting appropriate sleep or enough sleep. He also thinks it might be a possibility that I have Narcolepsy. I guess I will wait and see.

My neuro's nurse called me yesterday. The Provigil rep was in the office and gave her a lot of certificates for Provigil. These certificates are good for 7 pills of 200mg of Provigil. I take the certificate and a script in to the pharmacy and I get my free pills!!! Last year I was on 100mg, so I just cut these in half and it will last 2 weeks. I am suppose to call the nurse every 2 weeks so she can send me another script and another certificate. She said she had enough of these to last me 1 year or until I get a dx. She also reminded me that a dx of MS can sometimes take years. I know that, so I sit here patiently and wait.

I am hoping some of the newbies and others will read this and ask their docs about the "Certificates". Maybe my good fortune can help others.

I have also been very busy trying to get a quilt done for my youngest birthday. She turns four on the 28th. She really LOVES my little ponies, so I am making her a quilt. I will post pictures when it is all done. This will be my 3rd quilt but the most detailed one I've ever made.

Today is a very bad day for me at work. It has taken me all morning to get one thing done and of course it's not helping me not staying focused and checking the forum every once in a while. :o) My right arm is acting very weird like it has a mind of it's own today, something new. If this fatigue keeps up, I definately will be asking about the certs. Thanks again!
