My MRI i had done on my brain for depression came up negative they said that everything grey matter and such was fine. I still have so much back pain and know my right leg hurts like i ran a marathon, i have scolosis and muscle spasms galore and bulging discs, my question is with all of these problems is it possible to be tested for MS directly from a spinal MRI or something if my brain didn;t show any lesions then i my understanding is that it;s not MS but if there is a spinal test done is it possible it will show something? Also i experince periodic numbness in different parts of my fingers and legs, gotta go for now Twiggy2
Usually a brain MRI is more often used to diagnose MS than a spinal MRI. But certainly scoliosis and bulging discs can cause back and leg pain, as well as periodic numbness if nerves in the back are impinged, or have pressure on them.
There are folks with MS who have had MRI's that have not shown lesions, but your symptoms sound more "mechanical" in nature -- that is, pain caused by problems with your spine. I'm sorry.
