I got the book today and it is really cool. I actually got it for my mom who is just a worry wart but does not have access to a computer. It is a positive and informative look at MS. Just thought I would let you know in case anyone is looking for a good MS book.

Thanks for the post.  I like it too.  I think it is a really great resource.  It is just filled with information.  It is a very easy to use reference.  It is generally positive and seems accurate.  I would recommend it for anyone seeking information on MS.  (even if you're not a dummie!  hehehe hahaha and muhahahah -  that was for you KAS)

Hello everyone:

 

I was the person who made the post @ 10 days ago about  Multiple Sclerosis for Dummies.

 

I agree with the comments posted here. 

 

I am about halfway through the book....it does not have any info that I didn't know(DX'ed 19 years ago) but....

 

This book would be perfect for newly diagnosed MS patients.

Question for those of you that have read the book.  Would this be a good resource for teens?  By the title I'm guessing its very easy to understand.  My kids know the basics of MS, they've certainly written a number of papers on the topic for school, but if they wanted to know more..and don't want to ask us (you know how kids are) would they get a lot of it do you think?  Thanks for your input tongue

Ya know, if they are super knowledgeable I would think that this would be too limited for them. It is definitely a good read for people who don't know a ton about MS. I think I like the fact that is is super forward but positive. It has a whole section about MS myths debunked and the first myth is MS is fatal and it says not really....Some severe cases are fatal but MS patients die of the same things as everyone else. I like the way it just gets to the darn point.

I agree with Tkelly, if your kids know a lot about MS, this may be a limited resource for them.  It is easy to read - I would guess your average 7th grader would do just fine with it.  It does seem to be written for the newly dxed or family and friends.  I hope that helps, Kimber.  As for you Rhonda, hahahahahahahahahah.
