Hi all,

I saw the surgeon this morning and my surgery for total colectomy is this friday.  She will admit me Thursday though to do the prep because I have such a time with that.

 

She expects me to be in the hospital 7-10 days.  I will have an "open" surgery, she cannot do the laparscopic due to previous abdominal surgeries.

 

I'll try to let you all know how it goes.  She agrees this colonic inertia is caused from the MS.

Goodness this is fast! I'm glad, maybe soon u'll be able to move past all this. I'll certainly be praying for u friend and will keep u on my mind and heart as u endure this surg. I"m so glad this is coming to a climax for u and that maybe soon u'll have the relief u really need and deserve. Please let me know if there's anything at all i can do for u...u know i'll be there. Take such good care friend. ;)

    That's a quick scheduling and I'm glad, you really do deserve some relief to all of this.  Good luck with the surgery and know that you are loved and wished the very best!

I will be thinking of you and saying lots of prayers.  Hopefully this will work for you and you will feel better real soon.  You are a strong person and you inspire me to stay strong and work hard at maintaining my health.

Take care. While this certainly is drastic surgery, it sounds like what is necessary for your overall health. I hope you heal up quickly and uneventfully. Take care.

Thanks all...I really appreciate all of your care and concern. I will report as soon as I am able. Lifewithms will try to keep you updated as well!

I am quite nervous but I know this is what needs to be done. I am very relieved I am being admitted for the prep tomorrow.
