Hi Niffie,
Wish I saw this before the chat instead of after. Congrats. Both my bigbrat and ltlbrat were oops because I have been sick for over 17 years, first dx as sero negative lupus, because everything else was ruled out, and sometimes you have lupus without the positive ana. I was so scared with the first pregnancy because of being on meds, I stopped them against doctor's advice, felt the best I had felt in a few years. Had a great pregnancy, easy delivery, and easy baby. After six weeks I flared and had trouble holding her for three days. Thank God, for giving me my second "brat", and we were prepared for a flare, I chose not to nurse, and took a six week course of prednison, avoided the flare and was able to get back on my meds. You can feel free to share this with both of your doctors for their feedback. I don't know if you even mentioned flaring after your first. My doc said that is common during the recovery 6 weeks, so we erred on the side of caution.
Since my second, I had changed rhemy's, he never had seen a case of sero negative lupus, dx me with fibro. I was only dx about a year ago with ms, have lesions on the brain, with a negative lumbar puncture, some abnormality on VEP testing, and started copaxone last fall. Had a bad flare in April and haven't ever had a symptom free week since then, and have to admit I am nervous about neuro visit next week, my neuro is watching me for the first year because she feels this could have been ms all along. Don't quite understand what that means, and I'll deal when I have to.
Like I said in the chat, my girls are the greatest thing in my life and God provided them because I might not have chose to because of being ill. HE knew what I needed. I hope you can try to put the fears aside, enjoy your pregnancy, and stay well.
Debbie
