MS and psychosis

I am new to this site and trying to find help! My sister-in-law was diagnosed with MS and psychosis due to MS a few months ago. Is anyone familiar with this? She has been seeing a neurologist and psychiatrist in a very small town and they have put her on copaxin and other anti-psychotic and anti-depression medications and have told her they have never seen a case like her before and they have pretty much given up on her. She has an appointment at Mayo but not until January 2008. In the mean time she is on the cancellation list at Mt. Saini in New York. Does anyone have any experience with either of these 2 places? Please help!

I did a bit of looking on the web for information on psychosis and MS, and found little blurbs here and there. The following link has information that is pretty representative of what I found, but it also has some links for further reading at the bottom of the page.

Another option might be to contact the National MS Society and see if they can provide you with some additional information.

I hope your sister-in-law can get some help soon. It so great that you are looking into this for her. I did go to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, and had a really positive experience. My situation is nowhere near as serious or complex as what your sister-in-law is going through (I do not have psychosis nor am I dxed with MS at this point), but feel free to contact me and I can give you additional details about my experience if you are interested...you can click on my name in the left column to find my email address.
