hey ash, thanks for checking up on me. i've been doing really good, getting out of the house as much as possible for the next 21 days because i know i'll be home-bound for a while after the little one is here! i started driving a couple weeks ago and it's been great just to be able to go to the grocery store again, oh the little victories. the baby is doing great and i'm having a c-section march 14th. i actually look pregnant now, which is fun too:)
i've been meaning to log on here for a couple days and have just been busy getting stuff prepared...
how have you been? anything new and exciting? i was thinking about you today actually because i have about 2 layers of tight tank tops under everything to smooth things out and i was wondering if my bag will be less obvious when my belly isn't sticking out so far and i remembered the pics you posted and it gives me great hope! also, lots of people trying to cop a feel of my belly these days. between the bag and open wound, i'm a little jumpy! okay, going to check out some other new posts. hope things are great and talk soon!

Glad to hear that you are out and about and that the little one is doing well! Hope everything goes well for your c-section! Get your rest (you will certainly need it)

how exciting that you got your wedding bands, makes it all the more 'real' huh? congrats! and house hunting is so fun, even though it can also be stressful. hopefully the market is as great there as it is in washington right now.
to answer your question, no we don't know if it's a boy or a girl so the suspense is just about killing me!! 2 weeks from today we will have our little miracle. and i'll be here when you get pregnant and need help with clothing suggestions. the bella bands have been a lifesaver, but i need that and a tanktop to hide the tell-tale plastic ring. oh well, no biggie. glad things are going well for you and we'll stay updated okay? take it easy:)

ash~ ooh, how exciting- september is going to be action-packed:) i'm so happy for you, you have lots to look forward too!
so here's the update:
i ended up having a c-section on the 6th because my amniotic fluid was dangerously low. it was a little scary, but the surgery ended up going very smoothly and we have a beautiful baby boy named jonas. he's amazing and has been really pretty easy. he was born 4 lbs 10 ounces, 18 inches. it was such a relief after all the crap that he had to go through with my colectomy and all the drugs i had to be on, he's just perfect. i love being a mom even more than i ever thought i would. i had to be in the hospital for 9 days because i had to have an extra surgery to repair a hernia from the last surgery, but am home and healing now. we're exhausted from getting up all night to feed and change him but i wouldn't trade it for anything. thanks for keeping us in your thoughts, i can't wait to hear about your upcoming journey, you're going to be an amazing mom:)

aww headphones! im so happy for u. Thats a beautiful name. Get lots of rest and i'm glad ur man is helping you! lol. You two stay healthy!

Congratulations!!!!  So good to hear that all went well for you and baby Jonas.  I know your time here on this forum will be limited, but please stop in when you can and update us all.  Maybe you can post a photo of Jonas on photobucket?

Was the hernia repair painful?  What did that entail?

thanks guys! things are going great, just adjusting to the lack of sleep and the pain of breastfeeding but i couldn't be happier (even though i'm an emotional wreck with these hormones!). jonas is such an easy baby and i feel so blessed, he couldn't be sweeter. i will work on getting my pics downloaded onto my computer and let you know when i can put it on photobucket.
ash and peggy~ nothing out of the ordinary with the ileostomy, in fact many of my friends who have had c-sections say the first poop is murder but i didn't have to deal with that luckily. score one for the ostomates! the hernia repair made my surgery more atypical with the vertical incision, and i don't know how a normal c-section would feel so i don't know what to say as far as was it painful. it was nowhere near as bad as my recovery from my colectomy in november, but i was much more healthy this time around too, so i don't know if that makes all the difference. basically, the surgeon went in after the baby was delivered and stitched together where the opening had created a hernia. i never felt the hernia in the first place, but was told it could be a problem in the furture so i should just take care of it now. they stitched me closed this time, whereas last time the surgeon left me open due to a concern about infection. it's so great to not have an open wound anymore and not to have to do dressing changes, whoo hoo! well, i hope you are all well and thanks for the well-wishes and kind words. xoxo, headphones

Congratulations on little Jonas and thank you so much for posting a bit about your journey. I clapped and laughed out loud with the "score one for the ostomates!" Can't wait to see little Jonas' picture and wishing you and your husband extra doses of rest and many laughs with your new bundle of joy.
