Hello,
I have a mother who has been ill with Crohn's disease for 25 years. I am only 28, so all I have ever known is my mother ill. Her Crohn's is in an acute stage every couple years (more frequently when I was a child) and I am usually the one in the family responsible for caring for her. Most recently she had her 4th ileostomy procedure in late April, but is doing better and is back to work today.
Over the years I wondered if other kids had a similar experience and so I have dedicated my thesis research to disovering how hope, family functioning, social support, and disease functioning effect a child's emotional adjustment in families with parental Crohn's disease.
If you or someone you know is a parent who has crohn's disease and they have a child between the ages of 4 and 18, please fill out my online survey at www.crohnsparenting.com
No identifying information is requested, so the process is completely confidential. Additionally, the IP address is stripped off before the survey is emailed to me.
If you have any questions please contact me by email at [email protected]
Thank you for your time and good luck to you and your families.
