all of mine are freakin psychos...they already started rumors about me...jealousy is a *****...they hate me b/c i married their brother who owns his own company and i don't have to work, i'm the youngest of all of them and their spouses, b/c of the illnesses i lost some weight which made me thinner than them..so they don't believe i actually needed my gall bladder out or need my colon out...they think i have an eating disorder that my husband caused....it's never a dull moment...plus a mother in law that's a joy

My inlaws are all horribly fat, i mean actually mobidly obese, it's scary. My SIL is just plain flat out stupid, she just quit her job, she is pregnant with her second child, and her husband works 10 hours a week at circuit city and works as a brand new real estate agent, which he has been doing now for 7 months and has not sold a house yet! So they have basically NO income, but yet, noone thinks there is anything wrong with this.
Since my SIL's son was born, the whole bunch has completly ignored my child. We live farther away from their paretns, a whol1 11 minutes farther. And they can't make that trip, even though they come to see my SIL almost everyday, they havent' been here in at least three months and they havent' seen my son or talked to him at all in almost two week
Before the other kid was born they came and saw my son about once a week, but as soon as the new baby came, we fell off the face of the earth to them.

Sugarbug-i hate when people think that we had surgery just for the fun of it!!! and it's suprising how many people do think that

What a great thread! It's so much fun getting to know everyone.

Shaz ~ my co-worker was deaf in one ear, had cochlear implant surgery last month, and can now hear. It's so amazing!

summer and sugar ~ I feel for you. You have to get REALLY good at forgiveness with people like that! It's the only way to heal from the pain they've caused. One of the most challenging things that Jesus asks us to do is to love our enemies and bless them, because it is so against our human nature to do so. But, He says it's like putting burning hot coals on their heads, because it's really hard for someone to be mean to you when you're nice to them. It's something that has helped me deal with difficult family members over the years, and I hope it helps you, too.

We had a Collie named Maggie as well. We had to put the old girl down last year though. We rescued another abused Collie though, and her name is Wilma. She was a handful for the first 6 months or so, but now she's a doll.

Well, about me. I'm a 48 year old guy from New York, now living in Georgia. I'm married to my college sweetheart since '85, and we have a 22 year old son. For you mathematicians out there...he's legit by a few months! I'm recently retired, though looking forward to going back to work. I've realized I'm not "wired" for retirement. Maybe in another 20 years. Per my username, I collect Corvettes. We like to go boating, go to the movies, relax with friends, etc.

Cecilia, we have a cochlear implant clinic downstairs which I work closely with. I haven't yet had the opportunity but I've been told by others that to have someone come in for the first time after their surgery for the 'switch on' of the implant and just to watch their faces as they hear something for the first time is awesome! Hopefully, I'll get to do that one day!

Ce-Ce we just ignore them, it doesn't really bother me for me, so much as that it's hard for a three year to undestand why all of a sudden part of his family doesnt' come to see him anymore. That's the hardest part.

I have found it very interesting to hear about other people’s lives and thought maybe someone would be interested in my life. My husband and I are both LSU graduates-Geaux Tigers! We also are Air Force/Army brats, so we have lived from Japan to Germany and many points in between. I have 3 grown daughters, 5 grandchildren, and one granddaughter due around Aug. 18. I taught elementary school for many years. I would have hung on to the profession I love for several more years, but health reasons caused me to retire.

I really rely on opinions I read on this site because I live in a very rural part of Alabama. Thanks to you all I have made it one year tomorrow with the “you know what.” There-I tried not to mention it.

that sounds like an excting life, all those places. and lots of grandkids, that's got to be great for you. And a teacher to boot, you have been very busy, lol.

I'm 38, have three kids; 8, 10 & 12. Married 14 years to a man that is not the most supportive, which is why being online helps! Also have a goldendoodle named Maya and a rabbit and a fish. This is what happens when you have kids.......
Love to work out, but it is getting much too difficult on the chemo...VERY tired all the time, like to read (anyone have a good book to reccomend?!!?), bake and cook and just doing anything outdoors.
To Angela: where in Canada do you live? I never had any wait time at all....my reversal is sheduled for when I finish chemo.

That will be exciting to see. My co-worker said she laughed and cried the first time she heard her husband's voice! She's doing really well and is already back to work only 5 weeks after surgery.

I know what you mean. We've had to keep our distance from some difficult family members, too. It's better to spend time with friends and family who love you unconditionally, and let the other ones come around when they're ready to stop playing games and be nice.
