 Seriously people, how much longer do they expect me to live like this?  Another thing if none of the preps work how am i supposed to get cleaned out for my surgery? can they still operate if its full that's half the reason I'm in this mess is because my colon wont move the poo through it. It has just sat there collecting any food and drink i consume. That's why I'm all swollen and my belly is distended. I am very frustrated  my dr. says this colonic inertia isn't uncommon in young women around my age 24.  What if my dr. says I'm just gonna have to live like this. Like they told me at ed treatment when I knew something was wrong because my belly was so distended and that was 5 months ago,  they said that's just how u r. They were wrong. I have colonic inertia. How long did many of you have to wait for surgery I can't wait anymore. NOTHING WORKS, enemas barely work now,  how much more do i have to suffer, how much more poop can my (colon) belly hold, how much more swelling and weight gain and pain discomfort will i have to endure be4 finally they say  surgery :( I am trying to keep spirits up   I am following there mmm cocktail miralax, metamucil, mineral oil.  IT DOESNT WORK... I am so sick and tired of looking like Im 8 months pregnant full of crap and having swollen face, hands and legs ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh  all I can fit are sweat pants my legs wear a size 3 my waste wears like a 12   but it's not even about that  I JUST WANNA FEEL BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

 

 

2 more days until my doctors appt. I pray to God they say ok no more waiting lets do the surgery and set a date hopefully around august 15th at the latest.   Please God all I want is to feel better and for the swelling and belly full of poo to go away and please let me be able to go poop without an enema... thanku Amen

im sorry ur suffering hope...i wish amey were still here...she had sever colonic inertia if i remember correctly, i dont know what happens in the situations they can't get u cleaned out...i heard doctors dont like it, but i dont know if it opens u for more infection.

But i would think it could still b done, i mean what about those who's colons preforate because of being full of stool and have to get emergency surgeries? they get it done some how.

I was diagnosed with colon inertia too. I’ve had it for 15 years. I’ve tried everything too. What works for me is enemas. But sometimes if I can’t get to it, and a couple of days go by without it, what does the trick for me is 2 Ducolax.   The mild laxatives don’t do it for me. And one is never enough. I don’t like to take them because of the cramping, so I only reserve this for when I’m really backed up. But for the most part, I use a enema every day. In the beginning it didn’t work because I wasn’t using enough water. I never felt emptied and I also felt gassy and bloated because I was using the fleet enemas from the drugstore. But when I bought the bag (the bigger kind with a hose and a nozzle) I used regular warm tap water. It was easy. I release enough water when I feel like I have enough, wait about one minute and that’s that.   I usually take another 15-20 minutes to read a book or do a crossword puzzle and I’m completely empty. My stomach is flat. I think in the beginning, the fleet enemas had the air in the bottle and that was getting trapped in me and caused the bloating, plus there’s not a lot of water in those bottles. But once I started using my own bags and releasing the amount of water I wanted to, it was a night and day difference. Now I actually look forward to my enema. I love the cleaned out feeling.

hi hopestar, i hope you dont have long to go before the do something about this for yo. Doctors here in the Uk left me for 27 years. Yep i had it since birth, not nice and all you want is someone to take you seriously. I know what you are going through and how you are feeling, but it will be sorted out soon, keep your thoughts on that, that one day you will not have this crappy health problem. please let us know what the docs are going to do, take care xxx

Hope. I don't know much about your condition since i was on the other end of the rainbow...couldn't STOP pooping. But don't leave the doc until you get what you want. Kick, scream, and cry. But get 'er done. There is NO reason to be in as much pain as you say. Usually when it comes to my doc appts, the more angry was at something going on the more likely i got what i wanted. Of course i usually didn't leave until i got what i wanted anyway.
Like i said, i'm was on the other side. I can't IMAGINE what it's like NOT to go. Those ememas would go in....and come right out with me. And that stuff they make you drink.....can't remember the name...something soda. WOOOOOO Cleaned me out FAST!!

The idea of telling someone about your BM is quite hard to do on it's own, but it's nice that here at (HW) we can. Having said that I will share too. about 4 years ago I was having lots of problems caused by the ongoing symtoms of Crohn's, so at that time I was hardly eating/drinking anything, so my insides were messed up, And without much warning I became so ill and in so much pain that my son called 911 as I was unable to do anything but lay there in my bed crying and feeling horrible pain. Fast forward and I was in the operating room signing something so they could perform temp colostomy surgery, from what I was told later was that I had a supermegacolon and it had to be addressed. as I was so swollen and my insides full of waste, I don't know how they did the surgery without cleaning there first, but it happened somehow. After about 3 months the temp colostomy was reversed, and here I am now, and  I wounder how I made it through that. I still have pain in that area were this all happened and I am seeking some sollution. thats why I peeked in here to find out more. Hope you get some help, somwhow.
