Nene that is too funny! I just moved here two years ago from Alabama. My husband was stationed at Maxwell and we lived in Wetumpka. I lived there for 15 years!

Hi

I'm originally from Yorkshire, but now live in Birmingham, West Mids. I'm new to this site.

I had a colostomy last year when a mass (not malignant) was detected in my sigmoid; the reversal of the colectomy was found to be not on, so now I'm on for a bag for life (as Tesco puts it).

My wife has been quite brilliant over the last couple of years, but I think I need to talk to others who have the same challenges as I have. For instance: I got into the office this morning and had a bag problem which sent me racing to the toilet within two minutes!

How do the rest of you manage to hold down a job?

How much does this disability cost (bags, wipes, disposal sacks)?

And how many of you are "out" about it?

I'm trying not to be downhearted.

I live in Idaho. Ileostomy at the very end of jan. Revearst in june.1/2 small bowel removed because of injury. 2 RIS K can I ask what part of Idaho you are living?

I'm also from Long Island, but now live in Georgia. The people here are great. The weather's great. The economy's pretty good. But, I haven't had a really good slice of pizza in 3 years!

Summer, sure I know Hickory. Near Lenoir, Granite Falls, Morganton, etc. It's a great area! I spent my high school and college years in NC. We love that state! My husband and I have always talked about moving to Asheville, but the jobs are scarce.

Vette Guy - I grew up on Long Island and now live just north of the Atlanta area too.  You're not kidding about good pizza being hard to find.  Good pizza and good diners should not be taken for granted!  I did meet a guy a few years ago who grew up in his dad's pizza joint in, I want to say Brooklyn, and he opened his own pizza place down here.  It was the greatest pizza around for miles - then he moved it to another town.  Ah well.  It was fun while it lasted.  We do have great weather and great people here in Georgia though, and I've learned to love some of our southern delicacies.

I'll ditto good pizza is hard to find!!! I'm originally from Connecticut and have to go back east to get any good pizza, my last good slice was two years ago in NYC......Ohio just doesn't have anything close:(

candyland-my husband is actually from Hudson, which is right next to granite falls, lol.
We are actually south of hickory.
Asheville is really nice, and the mellow mushroom has some awesome pizza, lol.

Hi bella. We are in Suffolk. Have been for 21 years. Both my husband and I are originally from the North Shore of Nassau. How about you?

As for good pizza, everyone is right. There is no place but NY. The problem is there are at least 15 pizza places for every 1 mile stretch of road! Trying to find the one that everyone in the family likes can be a challenge.
