I just had an experience that I was wondering if any of you have had?  I had pain going to the bathroom at night and the next morning I thought I was going to have a BM but, actually a good amount of bright red blood came out.  It scares me.  I went to hospital and they did a colonoscopy. Now they have to do a vitural colonoscopy with a cat scan machine because of a thickening.  They couldn't go any further without taking a chance of perforating me.  Any comments from all of you will be so much appreciated.  I am a regular at the MS forum but, this is something totally out of the MS rhealm I would believe.

Well, I have often had blood coming from my rear end. I have crohns in the colon. But I would not freak out just yet. possibly and hopefully its something much more minor like a fissure or something. Does it hurt when you pass stool? Are you having nausea or abdominal cramping? Urgency?

Thank god they never nicked your bowel as my hospital roommate after my colostomy ..that happened to her and it was very painful for her

No, I am not vomitting. My belly below my waist just feels all swollen up and very uncomfortable. Well, it is Thursday afternoon 4:20 pm and I have not had a BM since Monday. I actually can go for days without one. I've always been like that. When I do go to the bathroom alot of times I have had nasty pains. It is like I go and sometimes have to help for stool out with a gloved finger. Gross, huh? My stool is formed small. Then 1/2 hour or so I have to go again. It is usually formed and longer. <That one comes out by itself. And, it looks like a normal poop would look. Then it is a about 15 minutes later and I have runny poop. I am worried about the thickening. I wonder what it is?

You are constapated.Befor I lost 1/2 of my small bowel your bowel patterns are just like mine. I dont now about the thickening but try not to worry tell all the test are done.Could you have hemroids?This can cause alot of blood. I just had a scope done last month because I was bleeding alot.I was sure that it was hemroids but thay had to make sure that it was not related to the ilieostamy reversa.Try 1 cup of grape juice a day for the constapation it will work in about 1 week but you have to keep drinking it everyday or you could try that yogurt I dont know if it works but you could atlest give it a try.

I have tried that yogurt before and it did not work for me.  Milk of Magnesia does....lol   Did you have bright red blood?  Now, first of all, what did you have going on to begin with and what surgeries have you had due to this?
