need help emptyin this hollister

hey guys so i was tryin this new hollister new image for the filter, and i guess its working pretty well but its hard to empty.  It seems i cant empty it w/out gettin "stuff" on the velcro, and the emptyin process takes longer than my coloplast extended wear. how do u guys empty and still keep it clean without taking forever?

I usually pour some water in the end (as recommended by my ET RN), and that helps it empty quickly/easy to wipe clean. If you do get some waste on the velcro, you can scrub a lot of it off with an old toothbrush.

I keep the end together until it is pointing down into the toilet and let it empty via gravity...then I just use a "wad" of tp and wipe the edges first, then get the first two sections of the inside...roll up and seal the velcro.  Some times I do get stuff on the velcro part but water usually takes care of it.

The first time I empty a new pouch, the ends can stick together, but after that first one it usually goes easily.

a toothbrush what an awesome idea!
i use some mouthwash to clean the stuff off the velcro and usually i can get all of it.
if you will put tape on the outside of the part that closes, it will close easier, and if you get stuff on it, you just take the tape off and put on new.

put tape on what part summer? if u put tape on it, doesnt it cover the velcro? im having trouble fixing it.

pibbin, the water isnt very feasible when im at work, in a stall and rushing to get back to my classroom, i was just wondering if n e body found n e thing practical and quick, b/c my bathroom breaks are timed and i dont have the time for the luxuries i use at home...

ohio, mayb its some kinda weird ocd for me i just hate seeing it on the velcro or the tail of the bag

its hard for me to explain this

but close the bag at the end. You see whats left there, the plastic stuff? if you put tape over there, not around it, just over just the plastic, not where it would tape it together, its much easier to close.
did that make more sense?

It's not a wierd OCD!!! I hate to get stuff on anything...I think the old toothbrush idea is GREAT! I'm going to mark one for "Stanley":)

LOL, I have to "come clean," the toothbrush idea was provided to me by my ET nurse. :) Thank goodness have only had to use that occasionally, I get grossed out at the prospect of any poop that can make stinky smells on the outside of the pouch.

praying4healing, got your situation now. Sorry that water isn't possible, I am spoiled in that I work from home. I think that would drive me nuts too, the slow emptying. And for me, it drives me nuts to leave residue in the bag, just feels heavier, and like there was not much point to emptying it in the first place. Is there any way that you can keep a small bag/fanny pack handy with one of those travel size squeeze bottles that you can have ready to just grab on your way to the potty?

I find it helps to fold the opening in half the other direction (pinch the ends together) before attaching the pouch. That way a crease is formed down the middle and when you go to empty the waste will exit toward the center (especially when more watery). There is also Adapt deodorizer/lubricant drops. Every morning you put a few drops in, and it helps the output slide out a little more easily.

I use those hollister bags and I use baby wipes. It's worked great for me. They have the wipes that are for on the go in liitle packs and I keep those on me for school or anywhere else I'm not at home.
