Hi to everyone;
The drainage problem from my rectum and vagina is finally going to be taken care of.I am still traveling back and forth from West Virginia to Pittsburgh,PA.. I went up there to see me new Recal/Colon Specialist,for the first time on the 2nd of this month.He looked over all of the papers that I had gathered up from all of my past doctors vists about this problem.When he came in the room to see me,he said I made it easy for him,by bringing all of the paper work with me,so that he would not have to research it for me.Any way,he said that I made it clear to him as to the problem and what he had to do.He sad at the foot of the table that we sit on when we go to the doctors,and told me,flat out.I can either live with what I am going through or have my rectum removed.I told him,what do you think I want done.I did not tavel 380 miles one way just to meet you.So any way,we talked and as he looked at my list of surgeries,he saw that I have an Inter Stem Implant in me that supposed to help contol the bladder.Which it is not working all that well.So he said that he wanted me to go see a Urologist.So he referred to me to one,and to find out what she would like to do with the bladder.I was kind of hoping to get it removed,or by passed,but the Urologist said that for right now she can not see any reason to do either one to it.So I go back up Pittsburgh,PA., on the 9th of this month to have a Uro Dinamic Test done.After my surgery,when I get up and back on my feet again,the Urologist wants me to come back in for a Bo-Tox injuction in the bladder.It will be done on a out patient basis.Then on the 18th of this month,I have to go back up there again,to meet with the surgeon,so that he can explain what he is going to be doing and how long it will take,and what I can expect after.I will also be told the time of my surgery.Then if my husband and I have any question,we can ask him while we were there.When I finish with him,I will have to go to the lab,and have all of the pre-surgery work up done.My surgery is set for the 30th of this month.I am so glad,and will be much happier when it is over and done with,ever though I might be in a lot of pain,I will at the right place.I have been waiting for a little over two years for the problem to be taken care of.It will three years this June 9th,that I have had my permanent Colostomy.My surgery will be done up at Allagheny General Hospital,up at Pittsburgh,PA.I will in the hospital for seven to nine days,only because I live so far away.If any of you live up near there,I would love to meet you in person if you would like to drop in for a short visit.I will be listed under Sandra Stevens. I am so happy that this day has finally come.I am a little nervous,but I guess I have a right to be,because it is a BIG operation.I really enjoy this forum site,as every one is all so nice and very understanding,as probably some of you haves been through it all ready.
Well,thank you for reading my note and hope to hear from some of you soon,and maybe some insite,out put,and in put on what to expect after the surgery and while I am at home resting and trying to get back on my feet again as soon as I can.I want to be able to enjoy the summer in every way I can.
Hope and Prayers San's
