Good news and sad news.

Good news: Reminder- I got a blood clot after my surgeries and had to start coumadin to prevent further clots. They did an anticoagulant test while I was in the hospital and it came back positive (which is bad) but I hoped it would be a false pos. b/c I was on heparin and that can happen.
I got tested again and IT WAS A FALSE POSITIVE! YEA. I get to get off coumadin in 4-ish months! yipee.

Bad news: All had been going ok with appliances finally. I have a routine and I mostly know what to expect from them. So I decided to take a bath b/c lots of people do and have no problems. It was fine when I went to bed, but when I woke up at 3 a.m., it had leaked all over. The worst leak I'd had.

Now I'm afraid to go swimming.

Congrats on the coumadin.. so nice to hear that you can stop taking that. And a relief to you as well, I bet.

Did you put any bath oil or salts in the tub water? Keep in mind that could loosen the appliance. Or if you are using a soap with a lotion in it and then sitting in the tub, that may loosen it. I would not give up on taking the tub bath... maybe experiment. Be sure to dry the appliance well. I know you may be hesitant, but I have to say, even tho I'm not much of a tub bath person, I have used our jacuzzi tub a few times with pretty hot water in it and the jets on full blast with no problems. Best of luck in the trial and error process. You will get it figured out and be able to enjoy them again.

No skin preps. After experimenting lots, I have found that the appliances work better without it. Just clean/dry skin to wafer. I even don't use paste when I wear one-pieces b/c they seal better that way.

BUT It was a bubble bath. I was taking a bath with my baby and we used the Johnsons baby soap for the bubbles. It's very moisturizing. I didn't even think of that.

If it wasn't completely dry, It would've dried eventually. Do I have to take a hair dryer to the pool?

.........seems like THAT would be embarrasing.

(dang it! I still don't know how to spell embarasing. LOL)

hairdryer on low works pretty good. takes a few minutes longer but well worth it in the long run to avoid an episode at 3 in the morning. that would probably have you saying AH S$%T! seems like this part of becoming a member of this club. sorry about the bad news.
