Sex questions

First thing I should point out is I'm a guy. So these questions would be best answered by another guy.

1) How long After your first sugery do most people resume sex.

2) what do you do with your bag.

3) do you think your sex life has improved, diminished, or the same as pre ostomy.

4) are there things that you should avoid doing.

I'm 31 years old and married. Before my last flare up which ended with the colectomy we had sex about 3 times a week. We are both pretty active in bed.

With that info, what can you guys sugest.

lol, i am here, i am a guy too, but i am at work, so i will have to ...reply, when i am at home.. but i am scheduled to have part one of 2 in a couple weeks and i have many questions like you.. i am married and my wife is almost 5 months pregnant..i will be very interested in what people have to say..also, you will have to let me know what is different, i am worried about the side effects of the surgery relating to this subject.. =)

1. The simple answer is as soon as you feel ready, for me that was about 3 weeks after surgery

2. I made sure it was empty and taped it down so it didn't flap about when things got vigorous

3. My new improved health sent my libido off the scale so sex improved dramatically both in quality and quantity

4. I found the stoma made missionary position a little awkward so we just experimented with other pages of the kama sutra instead

The key thing is confidence, if you are unsure and uncomfortable about your stoma this will affect your sex life. A caring, loving partner here is an absolute godsend once I realized the bag did not bother her I became much more confident and whay-haaaay!

my husband has a recent ileostomy, last NOv. sex is just fine. We bought an belt online from Ostomy Solutions I think that was the name. It works great and keep everything tucked away, we are in our 50's so I will leave the rest to the younger set

matt-i know ima girl, but i use a belly band from the maternity section, they are one size fits all.
I dont know like your size, but like if you wear a mens large shirt, you woudl probably need an XL or XXL large top

lol i think i would order one online if i were you, i think you may look out of place in a materinty store!
