Beverley,
I'm so sorry you're having to go through this.
I understand how frustrating it is, because I had a temporary jejunostomy (due to a perforated small bowel) for about
10 weeks over the summer, and the output was pure liquid. It didn't matter what I ate or how much fiber or Imodium I took, nothing seemed to thickened it up. Until I started using a convex wafer with an Eakin Seal, I was getting a lot of leaks, too.
Anyway, what helped me was to have a PICC line inserted and get a liter and a half of IV fluids at home every night. The fluids were delivered to my house, and I was trained by a nurse on how to hook myself up to a portable IV pump. It would run for 10 hours overnight while I was asleep, so it didn't interfere with my daytime activities. Getting daily IV fluids saved me from being dehydrated and having to be admitted to the hospital.
Since this is a new problem for you, hopefully the doctors will be able to figure out what is causing this. Best of luck to you, and please continue to keep us posted. I will keep you in my prayers.
Cecilia
