Questions about small intestine adhesions

My hubsband had surgery 3 days ago and they found ALOT of adhesions on his small instestine.  He has a colostomy bag fitted and they because there were so many adhesions they did not even cut the obstruction in the rectum. 

My question is how have you coped with adhesions - i know they can possibly come back - but not sure how long that will happen?

He had colon cancer but cancer is clear.

Big worry is dealing with adhesions?  how has your experience been?

Doctors say there is not much more they can do about it?

Where are your adhesions? Oh man, I am also hoping they don't give
any more problems.

Adhesion Related Disorder is a terrible disease that many people have to deal with and unfortunately few doctors understand. I have dealt with this disease most of my life. Surgery after surgery only to have them come right back. Fortunately not long ago I found a surgeon who specializes in ARD and he performed surgery on me and rid me of my adhesion problems. He used special adhesion barriers during surgery and special surgical tecniques in order to keep adhesions from forming after surgery. I have not had pain from adhesion in over 4 years and that is a record for me. Unfortunately, I have had other medical problems which I have had to have taken care of, such as colonic inertia, which was a result of all the many surgeries I had previously had, but the adhesions were taken care of. There is hope out there for Adhesion sufferers. God bless you and your husband.

So sorry your husband deals with painful adhesions after overcoming cancer. When the doctors' say there is not much they can do about it, please research their claim. My daughter suffered incredible pain for 14 long years due to adhesions. Surgeries in the US failed. I then found a doctor in Germany who has a high success rate beating the odds against this illness. My daughter and I went to Germany in 2003 and she had surgery once again. This trip was a godsend! We came home with her free of pain, able to eat without doubling over in pain and finally able to walk uprightly. She has since married and has given birth to two children! Given her prior condition, it is a miracle story.
I've written my daughter's story, though it appears I cannot share the information with you on this board or it may be considered advertising.
