Hi, all. Sorry I've been MIA, but I finally came home on Wed. (2/3). So far, so good. I had a rough couple days last weekend with nausea and almost ended up with an NG tube. Thankfully, the nausea meds kicked in and that didn't happen. I didn't even want the TV on during that time - noise really bothered me. I also felt like I'd had a tummy tuck, I was so tight with gas. Ended up getting a suppository and then the plumbing started working. Once they gave me real food, I could start to tell what it would be like and it honestly feels like I'm a new me!
So far, no butt burn. I haven't counted, but bathroom trips so far seem to be maybe 6-10 a day, defiitely no more than I was emptying the bag. It's SO nice not to feel like I'm wearing an IV bag on my tummy and to feel like I'm back in control and not Sybil! Pain is not too bad. I still have the staples, so that will get better when I get them out. I absolutely LOVE taking a shower without having to worry about
Sybil anymore - it felt SO good!
I had to go in for labs on Friday and stopped at the store on the way home (yup, used one of their carts).
It was a little slow-going, but I'm up and around. I'm taking one more week off work to rest, but all in all I'm SO glad I did this! For me, this surgery was tougher and more painful, but I don't regret it for one second!
