What can we do with unused ostomy supplies?

 My wife cleaned out our medical supplies closet and came accross several supplies I can no longer use since my stoma was re-sighted in '07. I now use 1 3/4 inch wafer opening and these are 1 1/2 inch. They've never been opened and we don't wanna throw 'em away. Here's a description: Hollister Opaque (beige colored) Pouches 4 boxes w/ 10 in each box, Hollister Convex Flex-Wear wafers 3 boxes w/ 5 in each box.  Any suggestions on where we can donate 'em or whatever? You can check with you local WOC Nurse...they may be able to take them and re-distribute to those who may not be able to afford or not have insurance. My hospital sends them to an international group that sends them to those less fortunate.

Or, put them up on EBay!

did you check they may be expired, but otherwise i would say donate them, or sell them on ebay

I donated mine to my ET nurse so she could share them with other ostomates.  Sometimes it takes a few different brands and styles to find the best fit and donated product is good for that!

NASCARon, I thought of that also and would love to offer them to anyone here who could use them. (Free, of course) Also, one of the boxes of pouches has samples from Coloplast in it instead of Hollister pouches, sorry. 3 closed pouches (opaque/tan), 3 open-ended velcro closure pouches (opaque/tan). If anybody wants these just let me know and we'll figure out a way to get them to ya.

I need to get my house cleaned and then I will have a bunch to offer, too. They are all Hollister. Now that I have the bar under my stoma, I need a larger appliance so I have several boxes of stuff that I can't use now. I may wait until after my reversal, since then I can offer several tubes of paste, powder, skin prep and stuff like that, too.

Thank you so much, Shaz!! The extras are on their way to "ostogroup" via UPS (yay, "If it fits- it ships"!!) as I type this :) Felt so good to drop them off knowing they are going to an ostomate-in-need.

there is a great organization in Kentucky that collects unused suppiles and distributes them all over the world. if you google donate ostomy supplies and use kentucky as a keyword, you should be able to find it. if not, p[ost back and i will look through my files. after i sent them a box of stuff, they qwrote back a wonderful letter.
