Dianna, I sure hope you find a doc that listens...I was in the hospital for 7 days out for 2 back in for 3 because I got illisus...gas loops, and was so nausiated and vomiting while I was home. But have been home since that. Recovery takes at least 3 months to get some strength back and he said a year to a year and a half to fully recover.
So it is day 28 for me and feeling good, very little pain and I would not really call it pain but uncomfortable where my scar is. I eat almost whatever I want but in sm. portions like a oz or 2 at a time and ever 2-3 I eat something. I will tell you what when I came out of the recovery room I knew my problems were over I already felt better except for the surgery pain and stuff.
I eat and then it comes out later, not a problem. I starved myself for so long and then when I would eat gosh what misery.
Depending on your surgeon and your intestines they took my whole colon and reconnected me and wow everything works. Some people end up with a stoma or colostomy thing but I think those are the ones with chrones disease.
for me it was a blessing. So I hope they help you, I did not have anyone who wanted to truly do anything for me so I found a surgeon on my own and told him what was going on and he got all my reports from all the other doc's, and had me do another sitz test, and mine were all in there and did not move. So went to the doc on a monday and had surgery on that friday.
Best of luck to you dear.
Leslie...Just got home from getting a burger and although it was a sm one it was good one...LOL
