What product actually works? I am going to the bathroom so frequently that I am in constant pain. I can't even sleep because it is so intense. I've tried A&D, Desitin extra strength, prescript
ion hydrocortisone cream, prescript
ion lidocaine, protective ointment from the hospital, and another ointment from the hospital (can't remember what it is called...it starts with a D). Nothing helps at all and some just make things sting even more. I also have a skin tag that the surgeon thinks is over a fissure that is really inflamed and painful

I always used vaseline...unsure if it will work for you but it is worth a try!

It's worth a try anyway! Thanks

Calmoseptine Lotion (did I spell that right???!!!) You get it from your Pharmacist. It's either behind the counter or they have to order it but you don't need a prescript
ion.
I've never used it (wish I knew about
it when I was having those problems) but it is highly recommended but many on this board.
Good Luck...I hope you find relief!

Calmoseptine rocks but the grandfather of all BB treatment is Ilex. You can order it online.

I use Vaseline when I get butt burn... suprised lidocaine isn't working for you though. Are you having "internal" butt burn too?

Thanks, guys. Yes, it is internal, too. But the lidocaine didn't even help with the external burn.
Last night was pretty good. My surgeon prescribed me some Lortab, so I only had to go every 3 hours and it helped calm things down and helped with the pain.

I just had a reversed ostomy and within 52 hours of the surgery I had gone to the bathroom 42 times. The pain from butt burn was unbearable. It was my surgeon who told me the creams are soothing but wet, and the area needs to be dry. He told me to get "anti monkey butt" powder and to apply it generously, using a gloved hand to really get it in there. I did, and it was a miracle worker. Any time I took my medicine for diarrahea (which would ensure a couple of hours of no movements) I took extra care to use it generously. It is the best remedy I've tried, and I'd tried many by the time I got this info from him. We had to look around a bit but I found it at Safe Rite, but he said it's also found at Walmart.

Thanks.
I saw my surgeon today so he could take out my central line. He also told me that the creams can be bad because they keep things wet. He suggested putting a cotton ball there to really keep things dry and see if that helps
He also said he would prescribe me the Lortab as long as I need it if it is helping slow things down.
