sub total colectmy with ileo recto anastomosis now getting rectal and coccyx pain

I would venture to say that it is from the surgery itself. I had surgery to fix a rectocele and have had a terrible time since. There is a muscle in your pelvic floor called the levator muscle. It acts as a cup basically to help hold everything together. Look it up and you will see what I mean. Anyway, when there is any surgery in that area it can effect the muscle. This muscle is also attached to your spine. I have chronic rectal pain and spine pain since the surgery and am in physical therapy now. Doctor told me it could happen at any point and time following a surgery. Seriously though look it up. I am sure thats what it sounds like.
