Thank you for your replies, I feel better now! :)
I'm a bit uncertain of the actual name of my operation because I've heard a few words being thrown around. But basically, I had my entire large colon removed, but I'm having it reversed in about three months. So, I had a total colectomy with a temporary ileostomy, I think.
I'm doing okay, mostly just feeling tired, and walking hunched over like an old woman. :P Can't walk very far or stand for too long without it hurting, and don't have much of an appetite, but that's all to be expected. Had a bit of a hiccup with my pouch because the stoma is leaking from the bottom instead of the top, so the day i got out of hospital I panicked when I found my bag was leaking, and had to go back to the clinic to get a different kind of bag, one with a different shaped flange and a belt to hold it, and a washer if I need it. I'm changing it tomorrow morning so I'm a bit nervous about that, but my mum is going to help me, and my stoma nurse is wonderful, so we can always call her again if we have any problems. It's just getting used to it all, I suppose. :)
