Hi Girls!!!
I know it's been awhile since I've been on, I spent a month with my daughter in Myrtle Beach and have been extremely busy since I came home Aug. 1st. I passed yet another kidney stone last week so I spent 4 hrs in the ER and on Tuesday I had a staple and a screw removed from my foot that was placed during a previous surgery. I opted for a local for this procedure because of all my surgeries last year and the dr wished I would have had sedation because he couldn't get the screw out, what he thought would take him 5-10 min ended up taking an hour and 5 min; he had to do a lot of tapping/hitting with the mallet and yanking on it. Anyway it's really messed up my walking routine I had going but now they won't rub when I wear shoes or sneakers anymore YAY! so it was worth it!:)
Both of my girls are here together this week so we are enjoying having them together:) Our older one that just graduated from college has a 4 mo old boxer puppy and she's really a handful; if anyone has ever had a boxer you know how active and crazy they are a puppy, but they are a fabulous adult dog; we already have 2 of them:)
Have finally made myself go out to school this week but only went out for a couple of hours; still am not into going back for the new year. Things are not yet settled from last year yet, I was hoping they would be and I could just start out fresh but if not the most important thing is for me to be there for my children:)
Hodaya & Tracy- so happy that you both are doing so well with the ostomy. You both sound great and it's very good to hear positive results. Hugs and love:)
Val & Jenise-so glad everything went well and you both are doing good. Praying that you will continue to feel well.:)
Allie-Thanks soooooo much for all the updates on Lizzie; we talk frequently and she's ALWAYS on my mind throughout the day. Please let her know I love her and continue to pray for her.
Janie-Hope all is going well on your cruise and you're having a BLAST!!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! :)
Marissa-So sorry to hear about the baby; Matt's cousins family as well as yours is in my prayers. Try to have fun camping, but NO HOT DOGS!!!!! Stick to the low residue diet; I even tried the skinless ones once and it was a nightmare so I don't usually go off the diet except for hot, spicy foods which I just can't give up :) and then I just suffer with lots of D but it's worth it:)
Welcome to the Newbies:) I know I haven't been on here lately but I have been posting since my subtotal colectomy in 2008. My surgery has been extremely successful and I would recommend it to anyone who is suffering from CI. My dr left 2 in. of my colon and I haven't had any problems with it. I do as I said previously, stick with the low residue diet as per my GI and this I believe contributes to my surgery's success. Most drs let their patient start eating any foods after 6 wks and that is when you begin to see many blockages and problems. So I would highly recommend the diet.
I wish you all the best in whatever decision you choose.
Love, peace and prayers to all,
Judy
