wow, I have to say I was complaining about not gaining weight when I was sick, but holy &$(#, I gained it all back and then some. Surgeon doesn't want me to work out just yet. I have a tray of baked ziti in the oven and a carton of ice cream in the freezer. Um, yeah, I am going to eat it all. I guess it is good to feel well again.

BEER. Seriously freaking carbs LOL. I've gained 10 lbs in the past two weeks and I'm still going 131 now. brb need more Guinness.
Want to get back to my old weight of 175 :D

haha, forgot, I am able to drink again. When you going for your takedown? BTW, I had a funny story when I was at my brother's apartment. We were drinking, watching movies, having a good time like we always do and I went to the bathroom and when I emptied my bag it apparently didn't empty into the toilet. It went all over his carpet. He saw it and was like you know the toilet is three feet away from the carpet, right? lol.

It's so hard to empty when you are drunk!
There should be a special pouch!

oh god, yeah. It only took like 3 shirley temples too ;) ... seriously it took like three beers. I haven't drank in like two years ever since I was sick. I decided to party like it was 2008 with my brother, and yeah, it was all over the place. The special pouch should be a giant garbage bag you climb into.

I can still drink vodka with only a small buzz. Tequila is a little stronger. Rum LOL yea couple of shots of that and I'm drunk.
Also I figured it would be good to get back on at my old job then go for the takedown. They just moved to the new building and I could probably start within the next couple of weeks.

WOW...and I just wrote a post asking if it were ok to have a glass of wine. You sound like a bunch of alkies..lol! Geez, when I was young one Singapore Sling and I was wiped out. I remember one of the first dates I had with my hubby....one drink and that was it...he had to walk me around my block three times because all I had to do was walk in my front door tipsie. My dad ALWAYS was waiting up for me, watching tv in our living room. My curfew was midnight and I was 21 yrs old. Oh the good ole days!

Anthony..PU....did your brother have to take up the rug? Hope you ate some wintergreen mints beforehand..lol. I always have a fragrant candle burning in the bathroom. Don't worry, I make sure all the candles are blown out if we leave the house. We have a vinyl floor in the bathroom too.

I haven't missed the toilet, lol. I still have the problem of splashing which is annoying. I've tried the toilet paper in the bowl first but that still doesn't do much.

The absolute hardest thing to do, is empty in a bar bathroom, with those little stalls,people outside waitingon you, half the time the doors don't stay shut on their own, so i'm trying to keep the door shut with my foot and empty the bag and not get it all over the skirt im usally wearing which depending on what else im wearing i may have just pulled up around my waist!

Oh my goodness, EWI (Emptying While Intoxicated) I'm ROFL!! These stories are cracking me up! The first time I EWI'd was at a Quizno's after a having a couple of Guinness. I completely missed the toilet and got it all over my jeans, but still stood in line to get my sandwich! tongue

well i wish i had been drunk yesterday and at least i would have had an excuse for pouring my bag out everywhere!
I sat down to empty, and luckily was fixing to put on different clothes so i only had on underwear, went to open my bag and for some reason, i have no idea why, i didnt have it pointed into the toilet at all! It went on the seat, ran down the front and puddled at my feet! If i had had on pants or shorts it would have ruined them!
I actually thought, man i wish i was drunk and had an excuse for this stupidity!

Yeah i didn't realize how under weight i had gotton before surgery! iN two years i had dropped 45 pounds (i had a little extea to begin with;) )
Now i'm 5 months post-op and i've gained back 40!!!! no more please!!! im just glad to enjoy food and have some control over my life again...now where did i set down my jack and coke

Corgi: I lost around 60 pounds in 8 months because of a flare up :( Since my first surgery 3 months ago I've gained 20lbs back though :D

Oh no, Summer, what a bummer! shakehead Sadly, I've done that, too. I used to spend so much time in the bathroom when I had Crohn's that we positioned the TV in the bedroom to where I could see it from the toilet.

So, I'm watching HGTV one day and trying to empty at the same time. Bad idea to not pay attention to what I was doing... I missed the toilet completely... What a mess!! Another lesson learned. smilewinkgrin

i can't remember when you had surgery, but if you are off the pain pills and the antibiotics and prednisone, then it should be fine.  Just take it slow at first don't down  a fith of vodka or a  pack of beer!  Save that for the second time you drink :D

So alcohol is good for gaining weight? Got any other tips? I had my ileostomy surgery about a month ago and have lost about half a stone and am currently about seven and a half stone, so I don't want to lose any more weight, but I don't want to put on too much and weigh more than I did in the first place, either! How long does it take to get the weight back on? I'm paranoid about losing more weight, because I guess with the bag I'm losing more output?

umm, trust me, when I had my ileostomy I gained a god-awful amount of weight back. You are still going through the adjustment period and will be for a while. Your body has to adapt. Just introduce foods slowly. I remember when I had my ileostomy I was home not more than two days and I was already driving through the white castle parking lot with a case of 30 hamburgers. I think only 10 made it home in-tact.

oh yes liquor puts the weight on FAST!!! Especially baileys (sadly, my favorite!)
It wasnt hard for me because i was so flipping happy to get to eat!

I am gaining all kinds of weight back too. It's kind of depressing but I am happy to be feeling amazing. It's just so much fun and enjoyable to eat now. I hope I am able to control myself though.

i recommend the insanity workout, it will knock the pounds off fast! i lost 22 in a month
