In a lot of discomfort

     Sorry, just have to vent.  I am in sooo much discomfort that now I am actually sorry I had the operation.  I have no idea what is wrong, but there definitely is something wrong.  The surgeon still hasn't called me back and I had the CT scan on Wed.  I phoned his office again this morning.  I have to take Hydrocodone.  I am still seeping some kind of discharge from my vagina.  I wonder if this has anything to do with a bad fall I took about five years ago.  I fell flat on my coccyx bone and have been having problems ever since.  However, I had two CT scans prior to the one I had on Wednesday, all within a seven month period.  I would think they would show SOMETHING.  I know I am not imagining this pain.  I keep feeling like I have to pass stool and gas from my anus.

     Now with the holiday weekend approaching, I will have to wait till Tuesday before anything is done.  Sometimes I think my surgeon's assistant (a very young fellow) just wants to enjoy his time off and the hell with patients.

Christine, maybe you have an infection? Where is the pressure? Do you actually pass anything through your anus or is it just through the vagina? I have pressure in my rectum, but I still have 3/4 of my colon and my rectum, so I have to pass mucous through my rectum! And I hate it because my rectum still does not work. UGH

Please call your doctors office back and tell them you have to take pain meds to manage your pain....this can not be normal since you are already 2 months out from surgery. Do you have any fever?

Call the docs again. They need to buckle down and help you and answer your questions. I highly doubt this was from that fall years ago. Sounds like it was from the surgery. It is normal to have to pass mucous rectally even with an ileostomy. The pressure could be that. If it is burny and painful, you may have disuse colitis (but the active kind). We all have disuse issues of the gut parts we're not using, but only if it hurts do they do a short chain fatty acid enema which takes care of the rectal burning if its from that. This would have nothing to do with the vaginal issue though. Your doc needs to deal. Give another call. Long time til Tues. Sorry you are going through all this.

Hi Christine,

The transvaginal ultrasound is usually done with bladder empty, but maybe they want it to show up well on the Ultrasound in relationship to your other pelvic organs. It is as it sounds (LOL) but was not horrid or anything. I had a gentle technician. Had this done years ago. A piece of cake compared to what I later went through. So your issue sounds like it is a healing thing, that is good. You are smart to have the surgeon see the actual CD though.

     Stephanie, you answered my question.  I was just talking with my girlfriend and she said her daughter had the transvaginal ultrasound and that they put it in your vagina .  There is no way on God's earth that they are going to stick anything up there!!!  I almost went through the roof when the gyn doctor started probing around.  I was sooo sore he couldn't do a PAP smear.  Why, then, would he order something like this?  My surgeon said that the bleeding and discharge are most likely from the surgery.  The CT scan results noted that I have scar tissue.  My anus hurts so bad I can barely sit .

Are you passing anything through your ostomy? It could be that your bowls have slowed down causing you the pain. I had this in the beginning and the hydrocodone doesn't help either because it slows down the system more. Feeling like you have to or passing stool or mucus from the anus is normal and it will get better. Hang in there it should get better. Check with the doctor.
