Cathy, I'm so glad you wrote! And so happy for Dillon! It's wonderful that he can enjoy life again the way he should. I've thought about you and your son often. It's very sweet of you to think of us too.
Bratcat is doing great. Her annual pouchoscopy was at the beginning of July. The doctor was so pleased. She's feeling great. Every so often she feels a small blockage but it works its way through within a day or two. She just started her 2nd year of college and loves it. She commutes from home so she didn't have to go through any adjustment to dorm life. But she's traveled to visit friends at their colleges. And this last month she drove from NY to Florida (and back) with a friend and his family. 12 hour days in the car and she didn't have to worry about it!
Nonamejames is doing well. Still shows slight inflammation but his bloodwork is good. He just turned 22 on Friday. Celebrated his birthday with a weekend of partying. Maybe not the smartest move but I am happy to know he feels good enough to celebrate the way wants.
And my youngest son is in 10th grade now and looking forward to going to college to be a music teacher.
Overall, we are doing well. The year since my husband died went so fast. I'm still very sad (I guess I always will be) but the rollercoaster of emotions doesn't happen as often. We've learned to adjust to our new normal. I'm so lucky to have such great kids. And amazingly supportive friends.
I haven't been here in awhile. I'm so glad Cecilia let me know you left a message. She's amazing. I think it's time to start checking in once in awhile. This forum has always been such a source of comfort to me.
I hope everyone is feeling there best out there. To those who are going through a rough time, may tomorrow be brighter. To those who have children struggling, Collicat and I can attest to the fact that there are brighter days ahead. Peace to all.
