Just another item to add to my list of dilemmas. Have any of you experienced hair loss since your colostomies? I always had thin hair but now I notice little bald spots on the sides

Many. It's most likely due to years of pred use combined with anesthesia. It will come back.

I had quite a bit of hair loss years ago when my grandparents died, so for me it was down to stress. And we all know how stressful our little stoma friends can be, so maybe stress is a factor for you, too?

its from the stress of the surgery on your body. it will stop and then grow back, anytime your body goes through a serious illness or something hard, like a surgery, your hair and nails suffer.

Christine, I had major hair loss after the first step and I think mine was from the anasthesia too or the surgery itself. Mine was about
five months ago and it's just now slowing down.
