Allie,
I hope you get the results that point directly to an ileostomy. But even if the accumalation of markers indicates that they got stuck very high in the small bowel do not let an ileostomy surgery go since this would be still the "best" option. A totally messed up rectum like ours does additional harm to the small bowel and slows it even more down in its whole lenght - so tha mrlers needn't be found only near the rectum even if the rectum would be the main problem.
I am feeling like crap. I don't know how to go on. I had an appointment with a former GI doc of mine who knows nothing about
motility disorders but my new pain in my upper abdomen and below my right ribs was getting worse and my GI doc was not available.
He did an ultrasound and said that my liver was enlarged and my spleen was borderline-sized. However, he could not see a congestion of the veins which were stated before by ultrasound and heart echo. I start to believe that an ultrasound is a very inaccurate procedure and depends on the competence of the examiner.
Anyway, since I have a history of chronic pancreatitis he refers me to an MRCP/MRI of the abdomen to check the gall blader, pancreas and the other organs.
I so hope that something will show up to explain my endocrine symptoms. Please pray for me that I won't get another apprently "normal" result. I have had those kind of results in the past over and over again since the false tests were done and nobody could put the diffuse findings together.
I don't have the strenght any more to go this route again waiting more than ten years to get diagnosed.
I am going to have the MRI/MRCP tomorrow. I have contacted the radiologist before and told him about
my history and current issues. He seems to be quite compassionate, I'll see if I the examination is a step forward.
i also had seom pretty horrible days as I had the stomach bug, too. However, I have always been unable to vomit - just being terribly nauseated and having abdominal pain. I guess this is due to the motility problem, too.
Do you vomit easiliy? When I do with a stomach bug which is very rare I am in so much pain from the vomiting. I don't vomit from my motility disorder problems - even when I had subileus I did not vomit just severe abdominal pain and nausea.
Did you have a small bowel manometry? I don't remember this. If you did, can you send me the results of it so that I can compare the two procedures withe ach other?
