Showering with 2 piece system

I was wondering if it is ok to remove the pouch of a two piece system for showering and just have the wafer on.  It would be nice not to have that darn bag dangling while I shower.

My daughter wears a two piece and I would think if you took the pouch off and just showered with the wafer it would weaken the seal. Since it would be getting wet and soapy all over the wafer.
Not sure since I never actually tried it though.
just my opinion.

I wear a one piece. Very often I fill the bag with warm water to rinse it out. I fill it entirely, squeezing out all the air. This has not caused me any problems. Not the same as you are proposing, but similar.

I've been wondering this myself. I know water is no more harmful that poo sitting in the bag all day but the soap makes me question it.

I know someone here (I believe it's summerstorm) tapes their bag up when they shower because of the dangling. I don't know what kind of tape though because I was wondering that since I know paper tape doesn't hold up in the shower.

I use Glad Press 'n Seal -- you can find it in the market, in the section with foil and plastic wrap. I just tear off a big rectangle, stick it over my pouch overlapping onto my skin, and it keeps 90% of the water out. I often just need to pat the edges of the pouch dry after the shower, but it feels more comfortable to me not to have it dangling.

i shower without my pouch on every morning that im only changing the pouch. ( my two piece system is a click system though not an adhesive type) and i havnt notice it weekening the wafer.

I wear a two piece appliance and have showered many times without the pouch, and it has not compromised the wafer. Like webby, I usually do it when I change the pouch halfway through the week, but don't need to change the wafer yet.

I wear a two piece system and I always shower with my pouch off,hate having to dry it. Never usually have any problems with it.

I showered with my 2 piece system all the time, the water did not cause any problems. My Dr told me to shower without it, but I just didn't want to have poop running down my legs.

I wear a two piece drainable system and when I shower, I remove the drainable bag and replace it with a close end "mini bag". Then, I just rinse it out to be used again next shower and replace with my drainable bag.
I get many days use out of the mini bags since I'm only wearing them in the shower. I also use them for intimacy.

I wear a two piece. I pull the bag off and leave the wafer on when I shower. I usually use Sure Seals over the wafer but they aren't necessary. The water actually makes the wafer adhesive more tacky in my opinion. Take the bag off, it's much more convenient!

not creative- I just did a quick google search of the Sure Seals and they sound interesting. Do they just fit over the part of the wafer where the bag attaches to keep water from getting to your stoma, or do they stretch completely over the wafer and attach directly to your skin to keep the entire appliance dry?
